2 Corinthians 12:9-11

What would you be called?

“The disciple whom Jesus loved…”

Man. What an incredible description. Or, “a man after God’s own heart,” something resigned to David. My housemates and I were discussing these this morning and the question came up of how would we be described?

As a woman, I tend to, when describing my friends to other people, list-off their friend group, a brief physical description, and then their involvement on campus. But how would I be described?

My first thought is, “Sadie the distracted.” “Sadie the inconsistent.” “Sadie the procrastinator.” All of these in reference to my relationship with the Lord (and often earthly relationships).

BUT.

The cool thing is—the really, really COOL thing is—by God’s grace (and it alone) are those names changed to something that reflects the character and heart of God. Those names above—distracted, inconsistent, procrastinator—aren’t of God! God is not distracted. He is not inconsistent. He doesn’t put things off. Instead, my explanation is reflective of the Lord of all of Creation! It is bold. It is beautiful. And it’s full of grace.

Praise the Lord.

  1. Sadie, the Princess.

Sadie is a form of the Hebrew name, Sarah, meaning princess.

You are a beautiful daughter of the King. The one whom He loves.
